The City Foursquare
Truly it has been said, “Without vision the people perish.” Truly it is the vision of the immaculate concept, the pure idea held in the mind of God for every man and every woman fashioned in his likeness that must be retained. Men die to the Spirit when they let go of the thread of contact that tethers the mind to this vision, to this sphere of reality, this brilliant ball of purpose, this intricacy of exquisite design that contains the master blueprint of identity.
I have read to you from Climb the Highest Mountain, and I wish to say that it is a great privilege for us to be with you here in Atlanta for this New Atlanta Seminar. It has great promise and holds portent for us. For we have known for many years that Atlanta is the star of the south, like the secret love star of the Ascended Lady Master.
Atlanta is an ancient focus of light. Here on this very ground there was an advanced culture at the time of the continent of Atlantis, and this culture was based on the flame of the Cosmic Mother. This is the pink flame of purity and of divine love. All culture that we have is based on divine love, the love of the motherhood of God, which makes God real to us through art and music, through ritual, and through all the things that the Masters have brought to civilization to enhance our appreciation of the Christ in beauty.
There came a time, however, for the testing of the souls of that civilization in the precepts of love. And this testing occurs on the four sides of the city foursquare. Each test involves the victory of an aspect of the divinity. Now, we speak of God as a trinity of Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. But when that trinity is precipitated in form, it is squared. It becomes the City Foursquare, and we come to understand the four aspects of God. For as God individes himself for manifestation, the Father becomes father and mother, masculine and feminine. And so we have the Father on the side of the north, the Son on the side of the east, the Mother on the side of the south and the Holy Spirit on the side of the west.
The testings of the flame of divine love which came to these people, occurred as the test of divine love, of the test of obedience to God through love, of gratitude to God through love, and of selflessness through love. And it came to pass that the people of that civilization failed in that test. And thus we see that not only did Atlantis fall, but the cultures on the eastern coast of the United States and specifically in the south, fell. Since that time there has been a rising of the flame, a pulsation, a flickering. But we find that even today Atlanta, the star of the new Atlantis, is still buried between the records of the failure of those four tests.
We have known for many years that the Masters were preparing the way for us to come here to hold the conference so that they might anchor the consciousness of the light of God’s love, to give the souls who have reembodied here the opportunity once again to pass those four tests so that the City Foursquare might become a reality once again in the South.
This morning we were interviewed by Gary Randall for Channel 30, the educational channel, on the program “Other People,” which will be played— a half‑hour show, a review of the book, Climb the Highest Mountain, we think about October twenty‑fourth. One of the preliminary questions that he asked us was, “By what authority do you speak?” How shall our television listeners adhere to what you are saying? Why should they believe in the theories that you propound in this book,” of which he’d read about a third. They’re all so different, and some things he felt were a review of many different sources of wisdom. And others he felt were entirely new and very difficult to believe.
And so we asked ourselves, “Why should the people believe us?” Something like Moses before the burning bush—“How are these people going to believe me when I tell them, Lord, that you appeared to me and told me to go and say—“ This was the concept that Moses had in mind. Moses even had an impediment in his speech, which the Lord healed. And this comes to the point of vision.
We find that mankind can only believe in revelation if they receive that same revelation within their own hearts, because the heart is the confirmation of Truth. The heart has the true wisdom and the true vision of man. But what happens if the faculty of that vision and of the intuition of the heart is lost, is buried, like the star of Atlanta is buried, beneath the debris of past failure? What happens when we contact people who cannot see or feel spiritually, whose senses of their souls are not quickened? They are doubting Thomases.
They can intellectually grapple with concepts, but it does not become a reality to them because their inner being is not touched. It is like the veil that hangs between the Holy of Holies of man’s being and his outer consciousness. His outer consciousness cannot make contact with the reality in himself, so how can we expect that consciousness, that outer mind to make contact with the reality of ourselves?
And so there is not much that one can say to people who say, “Show us your credentials,” because the credentials must be seen within people themselves. Those who are ready to believe will hear and accept. And those who are not must be healed. This is the great boon of the Ascended Masters’ teachings, that we do not have to leave these people where we find them as a star that is buried ‘neath the rubble of the heap of confusion. We find that by the action of the sacred fire of the Holy Spirit that this dross and that this density that obscures man’s vision can be consumed. The veil in the Holy of holies can be rent in twain and the true being of man can be brought to the surface of his outer consciousness that he might perceive the truth, know the truth, and hence be free.
As Mark has told you his experiences as a child, it may be of some interest to you, for this verification, for me to relate to you briefly of my contact with the Masters which I recall before I descended into form, having stood before the Lords of Karma. Some of you know the Lords of Karma to be the body like our Supreme Court who administer karma to the evolutions of this earth. The Lords of Karma determine who shall embody, and when. They determine the cycles of precipitation, of culture, of science, of education, of where civilization will go and who shall come into embodiment to outpicture the designs of what is the spiritual mandala for the planet in a given century.
And so, I remember going before the Lords of Karma and bowing before them and promising to bring this teaching to all who would hear it, all who were ready and prepared to receive it, promising to work for the writing of this book and the establishment of this organization.
It came to pass, then, that my mother was given certain books that were later to be the keys in my life, which would lead me to the feet of the Ascended Masters. I know that during the first three years of my life I remained in the consciousness of God. And I remember after the third year of coming into the awareness of the pollution of human discord on the planet and more and more having to come to grips with that situation—the world dilemma and the world pain.
And so at about the age of four I began to be very excited about finding someone who could teach me about God. And I pressed my mother to take me somewhere, to Sunday School or somewhere that I could be God‑taught. She said that I would have to wait till five. And I think the year between age four and five was the longest year of my life. And finally she said, “Now we can take you to Sunday School.” And I found that when I was taken to Sunday School that the teachers were not teaching the law of God but only man’s version of it, and I became very sorrowful.
And so I asked my mother to take me to another Sunday School, and then another. And each time I found that men had wrongly interpreted the teachings of Christ as I knew them. And I became more and more sad. And I felt that there was no place in the world where I would find the divine plan or find the understanding of God.
And so I turned to nature and found that God revealed himself to me in nature through the power of the Holy Spirit. And finally when I was nine I did find a teacher who knew something more about God. And so I followed on a certain course of teaching until late in my teens. And then I realized that that itself was not enough, that it was a closed door, too.
And so when I was about ready to leave my home where I had grown up, to go to college, I spoke to God as I had spoken to him many times as a child. And I asked him if there was anything that he had placed in my home that I had overlooked, for I would not be returning there. And I wanted to be sure that I had been a just steward of all that God had entrusted to my parents in my behalf.
And God spoke to me audibly and told me to take up a book and to read it. And when I opened that book, I found there a picture of Saint Germain, whom I recognized as the Master who had stood as my sponsor before the Lords of Karma, before I descended into that home. I realized that I must follow him, that I must find him and that I must carry out the mission that he would tell me to do. I went to find Saint Germain, and I looked for five years to find him. And at any moment during that five year period, I expected Saint Germain to appear out from the nearest tree, in the woods, on the street, anywhere I might be. I thought, “Saint Germain is coming.” So, finally at the end of five years he came. And he sent Mark to the town where I was studying, and I heard the first dictation of the Masters.
At about the same time I was contacted by the Master El Morya, who told me that he would train me to be a messenger and that I should support the activity of The Summit Lighthouse, which would be the platform for the release of the Brotherhood of the golden age.
It was a great rejoicing in my heart that brought me, then, to the headquarters of The Summit Lighthouse, which was then in Washington, D.C. And this summer is my eleventh year of serving with these two Masters, who are the two angels in the Book of Revelation who come in this age to deliver mankind from their peril.
Now, one of the things that must be understood in our discussion of vision is that mankind have to return to that vision in order to perceive the truth and in order to have an accurate measuring rod of that truth. Knowing that without vision the people should perish, the forces of darkness, who long ago at the time of the fall of Lemuria caused that fall through the warping of man’s vision, have made every effort to keep mankind from the true seeing of his Christ identity. This they have achieved through the control of the media, through the control of religion, of politics, of education. And this has gone on, not simply in the last ten, twenty, thirty years. It has gone on for thousands and thousands of years. We speak about this descent of mankind into duality. And when we speak of duality, we’re talking of dual vision, where man perceives both good and evil and he has not the standards of absolute good to distinguish between the relatively good and evil. We speak about this, and I feel it’s very worthwhile that you read it because it will enable you to understand not only the reason for the fall of the culture of the south but also the fall of Africa, which is explained—the fall of Atlantis and Lemuria. We read here the distortion of reality blinds man not only to his God but also to the real image of his individual and collective destiny in the ideal society.
The plot behind all plots is to deprive man of his vision—his vision of the world of cause behind the world of cause and effect in which he moves. If America as a nation of God‑free people is to rise, the vision of the people must be restored. Now, as the knowledge of the heart can be obscured, so man’s vision, which is anchored in the third eye, is also obscured by the density of his descent into duality. And so it is the All‑Seeing Eye of God as a focus in man that must be resurrected, that must be raised up. And the raising of man’s energies to the plane of that God awareness has been the goal, of course, of the teachers of the far East for centuries who have taught the raising of the Kundalini through the seven chakras and the anchoring of the light in the crown and in the third eye. This is also taught by the Ascended Masters and it is a very important science.
Someone asked me the question in one of our lectures recently, “Why did we not simply all sit in a lotus posture and practice the raising of the Kundalini, for thereby could we not balance our karma and achieve the same goal?” The thing which you must understand is that many yogis and Himalayan disciples have raised the Kundalini but they have bypassed the balancing of karma. Some have actually entered into samadhi but have had to return to the plane of earth, sometimes to the same body and sometimes to reembody, because they left their karma undone.
The thirty‑three steps of the Ascended Masters’ Teachings, which are presented in the thirty‑three chapters of Climb the Highest Mountain, will show you the thirty‑three steps of initiation whereby you can ascend back to the heart of your God Presence as Jesus did, which means that your outer consciousness, the consciousness that is in the state of becoming, merges with God. And by merging with God, you become immortal.
We notice that the thirty‑three steps on the spine represent these thirty‑three initiations. You will find keys in each of these chapters to the passing of each test. This is why it is important to read the chapters in sequence and to realize that it is not enough to know the information intellectually, but you must absorb the information and become it. Unless you become what you read, you cannot attain the mastery of it. But in order to become it, you must see it.
And so you find as you go through these steps that you are raising the energies of the Kundalini, the pure white fire that is of the motherhood of God. But as you raise this according to this technique, you find that you are balancing karma along the way and the Ascended Masters, who are the gurus in this activity—and not we ourselves—are leading you each step of the way. And they will not allow that Kundalini to raise unless the initiations are passed and unless you have balanced a comparable amount of karma to allow you to attain to another plane of God’s consciousness which you have the opportunity to expand right within the physical body.
This is the supreme opportunity of having a physical body, of being in embodiment, to anchor the seven planes of God consciousness right within your form. This is what is meant by the statement, “Yet in my flesh shall I see God.” Because the only way that we can ascend as Jesus did is to master the material universe, the physical plane. We cannot attain this mastery when we are out of the body in schools of light. We may gain wisdom, but that wisdom must be anchored while we are here in the flesh.
We read, then, in this chapter, “The Heap of Confusion”:
Within the forehead of man is the focus of the all‑seeing eye of God which keeps the way of the Tree of Life within him and preserves the purity of his soul, held within the spirit of God. Before his departure from innocence, man’s third eye was active as the faculty of his extrasensory perception. Through this holy orb he saw worlds within and worlds beyond the ken of earthly senses. But with his departure from innocence came the loss of his whole‑eye consciousness, the loss of the vision of his inner self, and the wonders and beings beyond the veil of flesh. Having lost the vision of his origin, of his divine heritage, and of his relationship to his I AM Presence, man was reduced to the level of homo sapiens. Without the influence of the Superconscious Ego, which we have defined as the I AM Presence, and the Super Ego, which we define as the Christ, man remains an animal among other animals until he reconnects with his inner being and once again begins to fulfill his fiery destiny.
It is not difficult to understand that people today have accepted themselves as descending from animals, as being animals, because they have lost the connection to the divinity of the soul. They have lost the connection because through misqualification of energy, which we define as discordant thoughts, discordant feelings and deeds, the sun of these chakras, the light in the windows of the being of man, has been covered over, covered over with darkness, and so he cannot see.
The whole purpose of the Ascended Masters’ Teachings is to give you a practical method here and now, whereby you can quickly clear the debris away from the chakras so that you can look out the windows of the soul and perceive reality right here upon earth. Unless and until you do this, the raising of the Kundalini will not give you permanent freedom through the ascension in the light.
We find that many students who come to us today have been embodied in India and have been disciples of the great adepts, but they have not attained mastery because they have not balanced karma because they have not cleared this energy veil. Energy veil is the definition of evil—energy veil. That is all evil is. But they have not gained mastery of that veil in the chakras and so they have not made the ascension.
We see, then, that the requirements for man’s return to grace, to God, to the, in the ascension, are that he do three main things: that he pass the thirty‑three tests that will prepare him for the complete raising of the Kundalini and the final initiations which Jesus took. You will recall that Jesus was thirty‑three when he made his ascension. You will understand that his mastery was manifested each yearly cycle of his life. He had another physical manifestation of his adeptship. He did not reveal this to the world until he was thirty. Nevertheless, he was going through the cycles of bringing into the physical octave the full mastery in attainment which all who would be required to do after him.
The next requirement, then, is the balancing of fifty‑one percent of your karma. “Karma,” the Master has given us as a definition for chapter eight, which is entitled, “Karma.” And you break down the word karma, which comes from the Sanskrit, which comes from the Atlantean tongue, where each letter of the alphabet had a divine origin and was actually an initial of the inner meaning.
We have an alphabet soup manifestation today in our government of many of the agencies and many organizations which go by letters, and finally these words become accepted. Well, we have many words in our language today that are actually abbreviations for much deeper concepts.
And so, karma, when it is broken down, means “the cause of the ray in manifestation.” Ka means cause; R the ray, and Ma for manifestation. We have several hundred such words that have come down to us which the Masters have defined in this manner. And when you hear them it clicks you into your inner awareness that you had many centuries before this embodiment when there was greater light on earth.
So, the cause of the ray in manifestation—God sends forth a ray into manifestation, which is man. Man himself then becomes the karma of God, because man is God’s creation. But man has many creations himself because he is a co‑creator with God and because he has free will. Through that free will he has sent forth good causes and bad causes. These make up his total karma.
It is the negative karma, or the bad causes which he has sent forth, which he must balance before he can make his ascension, because he cannot return to the level of perfection while he retains within his being any energy veil. The reason is scientific. If man were to take his pack of negation back to God, that negation would also become immortal, and God would not vest imperfection with immortality. Thus we must dwell in the veil of time and space until we are willing to surrender the burdens of our karma to the flame of the sacred fire.
The symbol of sacrifice in the Old Testament of laying down the animal to appease an angry God has an inner meaning, because man’s creation is symbolized in the animal form. It is imperfect and incomplete as an expression of the Christ. When man lays down his negative karma or his human creation on the altar of God, he is giving acceptable sacrifice, the only acceptable sacrifice which God receives. When God receives this, what happens to it? It is consumed by the sacred fire of the Holy Spirit. When it is consumed—as you know, as you know energy can neither be created nor destroyed—that energy, then, is perfected. It is relieved of the burdens of imperfection and it is sent forth to the Causal Body of the individual, which Jesus referred to as “man’s treasures in heaven.”
So, there is a divine accounting system whereby all the good that man does immediately ascends to that Causal Body. But the evil that he does cannot ascend until it is sacrificed, until it is put in the fire.
And so, fifty‑one percent is the requirement of this sacrifice. This shows the great mercy of God. If we give up fifty‑one percent of our imperfection, God will hold the remaining forty‑nine percent in abeyance. And after the ascension we may continue the balancing of that energy through service to unascended beings, to service to all of cosmos.
The third requirement of the ascension is that you fulfill your divine plan, your divine blueprint. This takes us back to the All‑Seeing eye of God. Only through the All‑Seeing eye of God can we discover what that blueprint is, because we must have the vision.
So, many people come to me when they first discover the teachings of the Masters and realize that this is a requirement. They feel that their lives have been useless, purposeless, without direction. They will have wandered from here to there, or perhaps they are young students and they don’t know what course to take. “How can I find my divine plan?” they say. “I can’t find it.”
You find that many people have their plan obscured by doubts and fears, by a terrible momentum of indecision. They decide to do one thing, the next day they put it down and they decide to do another. And they vacillate back and forth and they cannot weather the storm of opposition that always arises against the son of God who determines to return to his divine home. Then there is selfishness and self‑love that places material things before the fulfillment of the divine blueprint, so that even when it is shown to people they reject it because it will take some of their comfort, their creature comforts from them and they cannot bear to surrender these. These are failures of the test of Divine Love.
And so how do we discover that divine blueprint? By beginning the process of sacrifice, by beginning the placing on the altar of God the energy veil of the substance of our sins of all past lives. As soon as we begin this process, there is a clearing of these seven chakras and we begin to perceive once again the divine direction. The blueprint of God is engraved upon the etheric body. This is the highest body of man. Man has four lower bodies. It is the highest of these four lower bodies.
But there is a higher etheric body and a lower etheric body. The lower etheric body represents the subconscious level, what psychologists have called the subconscious. And this is where all of the records of everything that we have ever done are recorded. And you know that psychologists tell us that we are constantly recording, even if there is background music or a television program going on in the next room. Our senses pick it up and it is recorded and it becomes a weight there.
So, all of the momentums within the subconscious world, or the lower etheric body, obscure—like sedimentary rock, like layers of sediment they obscure the divine blueprint. We then truly must be patient with ourselves if we would have divine vision as a perspective of our individual world and as a perspective of the world at large. We must be patient when we understand this science. And there is a time between the leaping of the heart into the excitement and joy of finding the Masters and finding the law. Between that period of finding and the period of mastery, there is a period whereby diligent application is required to regain this vision. Thousands and thousands of years have elapsed since we lost that vision. And each embodiment, for the most part, has represented another layer or tens of layers of sediment in the subconscious. Because we forsook our vows and forsook the flame, God has allowed a period to elapse whereby we might grow hungry for the truth and for that vision, when we would miss it so much that we would be once again willing to give our all to receive it. So, the cycle has come again. The cycle has returned whereby there is an opportunity for us to regain the divine vision. In this conference we will pursue the study of how to regain that vision.
Tomorrow morning we will give you the opportunity of coming here at 8:30 for an hour and a half of meditation, of invocations, of communion with the God Self for the stripping of your consciousness of these veils that obscure the light. This must be done if we would find our blueprint and then build the foundation and superstructure of that edifice which God requires us to do before we can return to our home of Light.
I would like to mention that individually you must precipitate the City Foursquare as we must precipitate it on a world scale. The Summit Lighthouse has attempted as an organization, under the direction of the Masters, to focus in the physical plane the four sides of that City Foursquare as a challenge to the darkness and confusion of the age of the Luciferian consciousness that has been imposed on man for twelve thousand years and more. I would like to review for you the sides of the City Foursquare that we are endeavoring to bring forth. And there are many, many young people and people of all ages who have come to Colorado Springs with an inner longing to be a part of the building of that City Foursquare.
As I mentioned, the north side of the city is the side of the Father, and that side represents the presentation of the Law to mankind, of the true teaching of nature, of the Ascended Masters, and of providing an accurate picture to each one of how he can return to God. And so the side of the north represents the publication and the release of the Ascended Masters’ teachings in preparation for the golden age.
This release is forthcoming through the Pearls of Wisdom which have been published weekly since 1958. Each Pearl of Wisdom is a facet of instruction that is necessary, just like the bricks and the cement and the mortar must be builded step‑by‑step. Each one of these facets is important to your spiritual development. And these back volumes of Pearls are being prepared in bound volumes for your study and for the study of all people during the next two-thousand-year cycle. There is a monthly release of Keepers of the Flame Lessons which present the knowledge of the Law in graded instruction. The document Climb the Highest Mountain was referred to by Gautama Buddha, the Lord of the World, as the Everlasting Gospel, which Jesus spoke of and is mentioned in the Bible. And we have quoted Jesus’ words at the end of our book.
I would like to read them to you. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations. And then the end shall come.” People fear that end. They fear that the world is coming to an end, and they see the signs of the times as fulfilling the many other prophecies of Jesus. But we understand this “end” to mean the end of the human consciousness, the end of the carnal mind. Call it what you will, it is that ego part of man that is determined to separate itself from God and be the king upon the hill, or the dictator of this world.
We find, then, that when man will have the gospel of the kingdom, or the true understanding of how to accomplish the things I have outlined, that this human creation will go up in smoke as that acceptable offering unto God. And when that end comes, then, upon the ashes, the dead ashes of the present form of human thinking and human living, shall rise the phoenix bird of the golden age civilization.
There are many other books in preparation. And we have determined that during this lifetime we shall not leave any of the teachings of the Masters out of print but that all shall be published as a testimony, as a blueprint for all to follow.
The side of the east of the City Foursquare, which is the side of the Son, or the Christ, is the side whereby the pattern or blueprint of the Law is disseminated to the people of all ages through education. We have made a great dent in this side of the city. Several years ago I perceived that my children, when I placed them in school, were already being warped in kindergarten and first grade by the consciousness, the Luciferian consciousness that permeates the type of instruction, or lack of it, that is given in the public schools. And so I founded, with Mark, with the help of beloved Mother Mary, Montessori International, which follows the teachings of Maria Montessori for the development of the child.
Some of you know of Maria Montessori. She got her ideas from, directly from Mother Mary and received them from hierarchy as the blueprint for the education for this age.
Now, we have a Montessori school, and this year, by great popular demand, our school is going through the ninth grade. We have had a Chinese language program by a captain from Taiwan who was taught at the United States Air Force Academy who has been teaching our children and the entire school. We find that our own children and many, many children of light for whom the school was dedicated are finding their divine plan at a very early age. Your hearts would be filled with joy to see these children discover for themselves at age two and three and four, what the soul’s leaning within them is.
We also have already begun our Ascended Master University program with a seminar that was held in Santa Barbara at our focus there. We’re looking forward to establish the Ascended Masters’ University, which will eventually cover all fields of knowledge taught from the level of the Ascended Masters. Teachers have come forward in many areas and have volunteered to teach whatever subject they are involved in from the level of the present knowledge that mankind have and then to take their students from that point to embrace the entire scope of the Ascended Masters’ teaching in that area. This is the second side of the City Foursquare, a complete and total educational program, from the time of conception of the child through the nine months, from birth all the way through the university level.
This actually will include a program as Jesus outpictured it until the age of thirty‑three. The Masters have told us that many people coming into embodiment who have had great attainment in the past would actually be able to ascend at the end of that course if it were followed faithfully. This, then, is our endeavor which has concrete beginnings through The Summit Lighthouse today.
The third side of the city, the side of the south, is one that concerns you because it also corresponds to the south of the United States. And this great opportunity of that side of the city is the culture of the Divine Mother. The south represents the mother and the mother flame which must be restored. It represents the divine music, the divine art, and not only these but every facet of our lives. We find that already today the Masters have sent us a messenger of music who has set forth the decrees, which are the words of the Masters in our decree book, to the music of the spheres. This music is already being sung by people all over the world. And when they sing it, their consciousness goes straight to the heart of God, once they begin the process of clearing the chakras through the culture of the Divine Mother.
As we were concluding the writing of the book the Masters sent to us a famous artist, a mural painter whose name is Auriel Bessemer—he did twenty‑eight plates, the artwork in this book. And he was trained by the Masters his entire embodiment. He is an older man today but very young in heart. And he has told us that all his life he has been waiting for the great moment when he knew he would illustrate a document of the highest teachings. And so he came to us this year and did these drawings.
A very interesting thing that shows the saga of the human soul in its overcoming is that he has an impediment in one of his eyes so that he has not a perspective vision. He cannot see perspective. And by self‑discipline and self‑mastery he has learned a technique of drawing with pencil. All of these drawings in the book (you can study them) are done with pencil. He has achieved a tremendous cosmic perspective in these drawings without the faculty anchored in the physical senses. This is the miracle of the culture of the Divine Mother, because it is by the mother’s love that man can be restored to wholeness.
On the fourth side of the city, the side of the west, the golden west, we find that the Masters initiated this year the establishment of the Four Winds. The Four Winds is an organic health center, a health food store that is opened in downtown Colorado Springs. And there we have a combination of a health food restaurant, a juice bar, a source where people can purchase organic goods, organic vitamins and, although we are vegetarians, we also provide meats for people who are still at the level of consciousness where they are eating meat.
We understand this side of the city to be the side of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is the facet of God consciousness that goes down to meet the human need right where it is. And so the Holy Spirit is the culmination of the Father (the blueprint), the Son (the education), the Mother (the divine culture)—all manifest tangibly right down in the heart of our cities. The Masters have told us that they would expand these centers all over America as people came forth willing to manage them, to work in them and to establish them for the Light.
In the back of this store, not too far in the back, there is a separate room which we have made a reading room for the Ascended Masters’ material. And so we’re pursuing the concept that a way to man’s heart is through his stomach! We feed the people and they come, wander to the back of the store. They begin to read the Masters’ teachings.
And so we find that by eliminating the chemicals of the grain, the chemicals that cause the hardening of the arteries and make people unable to think or perceive God, by eliminating these through good food, to making the physical body comfortable, then people are ready to sit down and take in the wisdom because at the physical level they are harmonious, and harmony is the requirement of the imbibing of these teachings. This is the effort we are making to counteract the dust of the heap of confusion.
We invite you to join us also to precipitate the City Foursquare in your life. The City Foursquare is the base of the pyramid of your ascension. And that base must be established within you if you are going to rise to the All‑Seeing Eye of God in the top of the pyramid.
So wherever you are, I hope that you will consider how you can begin the establishment of that City Foursquare. I hope that you will use this as guidelines, and I hope you will decree for the manifestation of the divine vision.
We will show you how to decree in this conference, how to meditate. Many courses on meditation are given throughout the world. You find many swamis coming and going, conducting courses in meditation. But I can tell you that I never learned truly how to meditate until I contacted the Ascended Masters and received the experience of the tethering my mind to the Mind of God and shutting out the human consciousness.
We find many people who come to us, when they meditate they float right into the astral plane of imperfection. And they feel that they are very high in the consciousness of God and they do not know that they have only gone slightly above the physical octave into the next area, which is the astral, a place where you do not want to go if you are seeking the God‑consciousness.
And so by the grace of God we will bring you some techniques. I was going to present them tonight, but I think it best for me to give them to you in the morning when you are fresh and able to receive them.
The vision of God is represented by the mighty Elohim whose name is Cyclopea. Cyclopea—the name comes from, actually it doesn’t come from it, but it originated the name of the Cyclops, the one‑eyed creatures. And this legend of mythology goes back to that All‑Seeing Eye of God when man had his virgin consciousness before he fell from grace. When we tether our mind to the mind, to this Elohim, we find that we receive a tremendous momentum of divine assistance for the opening of our divine vision. This we will show you how to do.
I don’t want to weary you any further this evening. I know some of you have made long journeys to come here. We are grateful for your pilgrimage. For although you may have thought that you have come to learn, I wish to tell you that you have also come to serve and that the flame within your heart will be a mighty electrode in the city of Atlanta. And during these two days we will expand that electrode, that focus of the Holy Spirit, to make it a catalyst to draw in the blueprint of the golden age in Atlanta and in the south. And when that blueprint is reestablished in the south of the United States, it will be carried by people now coming into embodiment to all of South America. The block to the illumination of South America is actually the density and ignorance that has pervaded the south of our own nation for these past two centuries.
The Masters are ready to sunder this veil, to rend the veil of ignorance in the south. And you may not realize it, but most of you who are here are here because you have gone before the Lords of Karma and taken a vow to be a catalyst for the sundering of that veil. We are grateful to you that you have surmounted the opposition that has tried to keep you from this conference. We feel that this is a marvelous group of Lightbearers. We never consider that the numbers in our meetings is significant. It is not quantity but quality that the Masters desire, and they screen all who come to our meetings.
So, for the next two days we will work together because “wherever two or three are gathered in my name, there am I,” and that “I” is the All‑Seeing Eye of God in the midst. And so we will work together as a majority of God. We will become fused as one body, even as we will be fused in one vision.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow and we hope that you will all try to be here at 8:30 when we begin the spiral of our invocations. We thank you and we bless you and we love you.
MLP: Before I dismiss the entire meeting, I thought you might be interested in one anecdote which is very short but worthy of remembrance. Several years ago I knew two sisters. One of them is still with us. Her name is Dr. Helen McDonald. She’s a doctor of zoology. She had a sister named Persis McDonald, who was a reader of the Pearls of Wisdom for many years. This woman seldom spoke. She was very friendly—I don’t mean she couldn’t speak, but she didn’t talk a lot and she didn’t seem to do anything, particularly, that I could see, except she came to the meetings and was a very wonderful person.
Then one night I was laying on the davenport—at the time we were living in Virginia—and I was in a state of actually being half asleep and half awake—when suddenly I felt a rustling in the air above me. I was horizontal looking upward, and then I smelled the odor of roses. And I looked up, opened my eyes, and there was the face of Persis McDonald. And I spoke to her real quick and I said, “What are you doing here, Persis?” I was quite startled. And just at that moment the telephone rang and it was Helen McDonald calling from near San Francisco, near Berkeley, California. And I said, “Hello Helen, how are you?” And she said, “Well, I’m fine, but,” she said, “I wanted you to know that Persis passed away last evening.”
So I couldn’t understand one thing, and that was that just waves of radiation was pouring down on me. And I don’t know if some of you may understand this, and some may not understand it. But radiation is something you can feel if your centers are open. And the radiation from Persis McDonald was not the radiation of a soul, exactly. It was the radiation of an ascended being. And this is the thing that puzzled me, until the Master revealed to me that that lady had indeed made the ascension. She, whom I’d known as a student of the activity, had ascended as Jesus did, back to the heart of God.
And this gave me perhaps one of the greatest satisfactions that I have ever known, to see that the work that we had started so humbly many years ago, in 1958 to be precise, in Washington, D.C., was bearing fruit and that souls through the work of the Masters were actually being returned to God. It was a very moving and beautiful experience. So if only one soul—if she was the only one that had ever made it, had gone back to God—that alone would have been sufficient reward for all of our endeavors and all of the hard work that we have engaged in over the years.
So, I certainly thank each one of you for coming, and I know you’re going to find through this conference that many marvelous and unexpected things will result from your attendance. So, God bless you.

What is the City Foursquare?
Where is the City Foursquare?
The New Jerusalem; archetype of golden-age, etheric cities of light that exist even now on the etheric plane (in heaven) and are waiting to be lowered into physical manifestation (on earth). Saint John the Revelator saw the descent of the Holy City as the immaculate geometry of that which is to be and now is in the invisible realms of light: “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven.” Thus, in order that this vision and prophecy be fulfilled Jesus taught us to pray with the authority of the spoken Word, “Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven!”
Unascended souls may invoke the mandala of the City Foursquare for the fulfillment of the Christ consciousness, as Above, so below. The City Foursquare contains the blueprint of the solar (soul) identity of the 144,000 archetypes of the sons and daughters of God necessary to focus the Divine Wholeness of his consciousness in a given dispensation. The light of the city is emitted from the I AM Presence; that of the Lamb, the Cosmic Christ, from the Christ Self. The jewels are the 144 focuses and frequencies of light anchored in the chakras of the Cosmic Christ.
Cyclopea spoke of the City Foursquare in a dictation on July 5, 1970:
I am this night painting before you the vision of the Holy City, the magnificent City Foursquare, the divine kingdom that shall come upon earth even as you keep the flame. And whenever you see reports of problems, of crises, of injustices in your newspapers, I am calling by the power of Elohim in the name of Almighty God with the permission of your Holy Christ Selves that that vision of the City Foursquare shall flash forth from your consciousness into the world, into that situation, into the problem areas as a divine matrix of the cosmic cube, that City Foursquare that is the key to each man’s overcoming, the key to the ascension of the very planet itself.
Metaphysically, the four planes of the Matter universe
Metaphysically speaking, the City Foursquare is the mandala of the four planes and the quadrants of the Matter universe; the four sides of the Great Pyramid of Christ’s consciousness focused in the Matter spheres. The twelve gates are gates of Christ’s consciousness marking the lines and the degrees of the initiations he has prepared for his disciples. The twelve gates are the open doors to the twelve qualities of the Cosmic Christ sustained by the twelve solar hierarchies (who are emanations of the Universal Christ) on behalf of all who are endued with the Spirit’s all-consuming fiery Love, all who would in grace “enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise.”
The Retreat of the Divine Mother

Mother Mary has also spoken of the City Foursquare:
The foundation of thy being and pyramid of Life is indeed one by one the City Foursquare. And the Holy City which John beheld descending out of heaven—that city, beloved, is the citadel of higher consciousness of every man’s being in the vast reaches of the Great Causal Body. Collectively that great City Foursquare is the vastness of the Retreat of the Divine Mother on etheric octaves where the true City of Light is, where the golden age does reign.
North America
The ascended masters have called North America the map of the “City Foursquare,” the Place Prepared and the Promised Land for the reincarnation of the seed of light of Abraham. God and Goddess Meru have said:
We are determined to reverse the tide by a strong and united City Foursquare of United States and Canada. And this larger square, finding its heart in the Inner Retreat, will be the very base and stronghold of the powers of Light and the chelas to move forth and roll back the entire momentum and the effect of the Four Horsemen when they are spent.
Jesus has said:
I am sent by the Father for the quickening now of ten thousand saints in the City Foursquare that I mark as North America.
Blessed hearts, it is to these states and nations of the lost tribes regathered that I come, even as I sent my apostles to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
You have descended from the All that is Real. Now defend the All that is Real. For this place, North America, is a land promised to you long ago which through my heart, called the Sacred Heart by certain of the Christian devotees, has been consecrated unto the path of the ascension….
Blessed hearts, realize of this nation, the United States, of this Dominion of Canada, that each one is passing through serious initiations on the path of Love, the path of the internalization of the Holy Spirit….
Blessed ones, this North America, a place consecrated by Love to the reunion of souls with God, is a place where if the Lightbearers would respond and make the Call, even as I call you this night, there should be established even the white light over a continent to protect it from those calamities of the Four Horsemen, which could indeed appear for want of mediators in the earth.
A vision for healing the earth
In 1970, the Elohim Cyclopea announced that the hierarchies of the Pleiades had released a dispensation for the manifestation of the divine blueprint of planet Earth. Cyclopea said:
I am this night painting before you the vision of the Holy City, the magnificent City Foursquare, the divine kingdom that shall come upon earth even as you keep the flame. And so I say by the power of Mighty Victory, by the power of that six-pointed star of divine balance as Above, so below, by the power of the all-seeing eye that penetrates in the center of that star, I am focusing within your consciousness this night and anchoring within your own third eye the vision of that Cosmic City Foursquare….
