Peace in the name of Buddha

Peace in the name of Buddha

Light in the name of Mother
Light in the name of Mother
Light in the name of Mother

We are becoming the Buddha
We are becoming the Buddha
We are becoming the Buddha

Peace in the name of Buddha

AUM BUDDHA
AUM MA-RAY

Hail, Mary, full of grace (hold 1 beat, rest 1/2)
The Lord is with thee. (hold 2 beats, rest 1)
Blessed art thou among women (hold 1 beat, rest 1/2)
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God (hold 1 beat, rest 1)
Pray for us, sons and daughters of God (hold 2 beats, rest 1)
Now and at the hour of our vict’ry
Over sin, disease, and death.
Amen.

What is Wesak? Traditionally, when the sun is in Taurus—the sign of the builders—and the moon is full in Scorpio, Buddhist communities throughout the world commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana (final nirvana) of the Buddha. This celebration, known as Wesak, derives its name from the month in the Indian lunar calendar in which it occurs—Wesak or Vesak (Sinhalese), from the Sanskrit Vaisakha.
